Large-scale e-commerce SaaS platform facilitating the infrastructure of online businesses and cms management for shop owners and enterprises targeting consumers in China, Japan, Korea etc. In order to satisfy diverse demand in fast-paced industry, frequent product updates included features to increase usability, traceability and language support.
While non-stop feature rollouts successfully met various customer needs, it led to a number of bug reports and added enormous workload to the development / testing team. Therefore, achieving stability in the system to maximize performance for its platform users was an urgent task that required additional QA resources with the capability to iron out current testing scheme and automate the GUI testing.
Having utilized resources at SHIFT ASIA, existing test cases were improved, manual tests were executed more efficiently and time-consuming GUI regression testing was quickly automated using Racine (SHIFT’s automation tool built on selenium).
Over the course of 6 months, we were able to establish the product’s main QA taskforce. In addition to performing tests on newly released functions, ASIA’s dedicated team worked on previous releases which greatly contributed to overall performance stability and periodical test execution with minimal manpower.
