The name “Toiro” derives from the phrase “ten people, ten colors,” reflecting our commitment to providing diverse opportunities for freelance engineers with various personalities, skills, and experiences.

As a primary vendor, we avoid using multiple subcontractors or unnecessary intermediaries, ensuring we present projects at competitive and fair prices. Users can search for projects based on criteria, including desired skills, price per unit, and preferred working style.

Additionally, we offer a wealth of useful information regarding the “work styles” and “skills” of IT freelancers. Our content covers essential topics such as freelancing basics, contracts, insurance, taxes, work styles, career advice, fundamental IT knowledge, programming languages, development processes, development environments, roles, and the latest technologies.

How is Toiro Freelance Organized?

Toiro Freelance is structured into two main teams: the Planning Team and the Agent Team.

The Planning Team focuses on site development and operations, advertising management, content production, and attracting IT freelancers. Their goal is to increase the number of engineers using the service.

On the other hand, the Agent Team is dedicated to understanding each registered freelancer’s aspirations and career goals. They work to match individuals with the most suitable opportunities, handle contract procedures, and provide ongoing support during employment. Since most job placements come from the SHIFT group, SHIFT members are often present at the work sites, offering comprehensive support both during and outside of working hours.

SHIFT Group commissioned SHIFT ASIA to develop a service website as the foundation for the group’s new freelance business venture. Our goal in taking over the existing freelance business was to create a website that enhances the appeal of SHIFT Group’s unique projects. To achieve this, we revamped the brand and restructured the content to cater to freelance engineers.

Additionally, we implemented a distinct operating model that does not involve an agent company. This approach differentiates us from other businesses and provides unique value exclusive to the SHIFT Group.
Service development process and support system

– How did the service development efforts progress?

Initially, the planning team developed a proposal for the website’s branding and structure. SHIFT Design Office then took charge of establishing user personas and creating wireframes. Following that, SHIFT ASIA was commissioned to handle the design and development, leading to the start of full-scale development.

Throughout the development process, the planning team and SHIFT ASIA collaborated closely to make necessary adjustments and corrections to the specifications. As a result, the project was completed in just over a month, from the start of development to the release.

– What kind of support has left the biggest impression on you?

I was particularly impressed by the smooth communication achieved by leveraging the unique strengths of our group companies. SHIFT ASIA was quick to offer suggestions and advice and made significant contributions to the design of parts where detailed specifications had not yet been finalized.

Furthermore, creating an environment that allowed for the flexible incorporation of the client’s feedback made adjustments more seamless, ultimately enhancing the quality of the service.

– What results did you achieve through this initiative?

Since the service was released in March 2024, we have continued to develop additional content and enhance performance. As a result, we now see approximately 100,000 monthly page views and 200 applications, with the service growing steadily. Additionally, the number of registered engineers participating in SHIFT projects has increased, allowing us to create a solid foundation for utilizing freelancers as a third resource.

– What do you think of SHIFT ASIA?

We are impressed by the project manager’s precise leadership, and the engineers’ high technical skills and understanding have consistently led to deliverables that exceed our expectations. We also greatly appreciate the smooth communication and the ease with which we connected with each other. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with SHIFT ASIA in the future to provide even better services.

– Please share how SHIFT ASIA’s services are evaluated within your company.

Thanks to its user-friendly structure, SHIFT ASIA is well-regarded for helping visitors easily navigate to their desired pages without getting lost. Users can also transition smoothly between different sections of the site.

Additionally, we have implemented a system that displays the real-time open or closed status of job listings, addressing the issue of applying for jobs that might no longer be available. This feature has received positive feedback from users, who appreciate its reliability.

While there is still room for improvement, we are eager to add new content and collaborate with SHIFT ASIA to evolve the service to better meet freelancers’ true needs.

Toiro Freelance is dedicated to offering a unique service that ensures fair compensation, value, and effective evaluation. It aspires to be a platform that IT freelancers truly appreciate.

In the future, we plan to expand our support services beyond simply connecting freelancers with projects and providing operational assistance. Additionally, we will offer healthcare support, including mentoring, counseling, and advice on diet and exercise.
